Apply for a Grant

ACCESS TO CARE GRANTS

Dental grant applications closed.

Selected applicants can receive one-year grants of up to $30,000, supporting community-based initiatives in the U.S. that provide dental care and ultimately serve as a primary dentist to underserved/limited access children.

Who Can Apply?

All non-private dental and/or medical organizations located in the United States and its Territories are welcome to apply.

Can Apply

Nonprofit organizations
Local health jurisdictions
County health departments
Hospitals and clinics
State government agencies
Colleges/schools of dentistry
Colleges/schools of medicine (pediatric and family medicine departments only)
National, state, and local dental societies
Non-pediatric dentist programs (however, priority Is given to projects with pediatric dental leadership)
Hygienist-based programs (as long as they are conducted under direct supervision of a dentist)
Resident-based programs (as long as a licensed dentist is overseeing all patients and running the program)

Grant Application FAQs

The 2026-2027 One Year Access to Care Grant application is now closed. Next call for applications will be summer 2026.

Access to Care Grant monies may be applied for any related expense as long as it directly linked to a child/children receiving regular dental care. Salaries, instruments, equipment, education materials, travel and transportation cost, meal costs, and take-home supplies have been funded previously by the AAPD Foundation. We do not want to limit any unique/nontraditional request or programs that may apply. The AAPD Foundation only wants information/data that specifically pertains to your area of work. Please refrain from using generalized information that includes the entire institution/organization. Do not include over-arching mission statements, finances, and patient data. You should only include information that is specific to your clinic/department. While it can be mentioned that your organization is large, please focus on the dental care and child oral health aspects of your request.
